Energising Watermelon Smoothie

I think you have guessed by now how much I love watermelon. In the summer I tend to consume lots as it is  good for the kidneys and water retention. I also put chia seeds and baobab powder in my smoothie for extra vitamins and  energy. Chia seeds are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and protein so ideal for vegans. Baobab powder has more vitamin C than oranges and is great for energy and supports your immune system.

Ingredients:

3 slices of watermelon with the rind

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

1 teaspoon of baobab powder ( I use Organic Burst)

4 mint leaves

Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend till smooth. You can add  ice cubes if you prefer it cold. Personally I tend to drink all my juices/smoothies at room temperature as it is healthier and I do not like cold drinks.  Ice or no ice enjoy this refreshing smoothie!
