If you have been reading my blogs for some time, then you know I am on a mission to help women over 40 improve their weight, energy levels and confidence so they feel amazing about themselves and their lives.
As an Italian woman, it has always surprised me that English women do not embrace their gorgeousness in later life.
We Italians have a different approach to health and beauty, ok we do have the sunshine and the Mediterranean but you can still achieve great things without it!
I have always felt good about myself, my body and my looks. I don’t see the point in not doing so. So when I reached 40 there was no way I was going to step back or stop feeling that way and I believe women can look and feel beautiful and sexy no matter what age they are.
As women, we are used to our bodies changing, but what worked for us in our 20s or 30s sometimes no longer works in our 40s.
I work with a diverse range of women, some of them have been slim all their lives and have never had to worry about weight and then they hit 40 and things change.
Some are in perimenopause and want to know how to manage this new phase of life as best as possible. Others come to me because they are fed up with feeling sluggish or are lacking motivation. And then some women have tried to lose weight for years and have never achieved their goals so need some support.
Even with the best intentions, introducing new habits and cutting out bad ones can be tricky. You may do really well for a month but then quickly slip back into old patterns.
A healthy lifestyle needs to be realistic, achievable and sustainable.
This is why I am launching my Living Well Hub.
I saw that the women I work with were getting some significant results and momentum, and asking for ongoing support and accountability.
In a year where we have all been separated, I also saw the need for community and connection with other women who, well, ‘get it’.
My values and approach are not about going cold turkey, that never works. It’s about sustainability, start little and get some consistency going, introduce good things so the bad things naturally drop away.
We have to look at our habits and lifestyles and make changes if we want to stay fit, healthy and full of life into our 50s, 60s and onwards.
